Finally, it is done. This is a project I had been working on for awhile with *dv81. We succeeded to achieve what we were going for. *dv81 did the original terragen render and 3D elements. I had a good time working with him as usual, he is a very talented individual. I think this is the only piece I spent so much time on. We worked on this over several weeks. Please, if you haven't already done so, please visit *dv81's gallery and give him a watch ;).

Great job over all to all involved :) Gorgeous colours bring the whole image into harmony, and nice work with the lighting! My only bit of critique feedback is that someone went a lil crazy with the streaky lens flare filter ;) It obscures and takes away from a lot of the upper half of the image. Logically the only way to get these streaky flares would be from your eyelashes and you would only get them from the strongest point of light, which appears in this image to be the sun above the planet, they look fine there, but the ones from the bright corona around the planet is a lil streaky overuse :)

But it is a great collab, you two should do more, you obviously work well together!

HOLY FRICKEN SNAP!!! O.O this is a magnificent piece of artwork here! I am loving how it looks like real impact .. how you made the spiral effect where the meteorite penetrates the atmosphere .. and the launch flames.. I take my hat off.. or i would if i had one x3
