This is a view from a close-up asteroid heading toward a planet.

I tried something new with this. I hope you like it.

Please give any comments or +fav, i'd really appreciate it.

The concept is great, the brush work and the roids are very nicely done. The planets multitude of textures is also a great touch. But the two biggest things that really put me off is, 1. The flare is very ugly, those lines just dont work in any picture. Try using an Axion filter. 2. The large comet needs some work. I know its not easy to create them, i've tried before, though i had a lot more luck doing one in terragen because of the different textures you can apply bit by bit. The comet kinda looks like a gritty wave from the sea. Bad description i know lol, but its what i see.

It's all amazing. One problem, though. The big black spot in the center on the planet stands out too much and dosn't look natural. Maybe blurr it a little more.

This is still, one of the best space pieces I've ever seen.

lets dig in shall we?

first things first. that planet has the BEST texture of all the planets i have seen so far. it has multiple levels of terrain and color and depth and texture and it is absolutely amazing. if you used a tutorial, i must congradulate them, if not, then you my friend are an amazing planet maker and many could benefit from your technique. while the clouds are great, i think your strenghts lie in two places on that planet. the first being the land under the clouds. it has an amazing amount of detail and looks completely real. the second and less noticeable but i'm my opinion, one of the more intricate details, is the addition of the seperate light source on the left side of the planet, that extra little bit of light and highlighting adds this little extra detail of realism and makes the whole planet work with the rest of the piece.

your brushwork works great in this piece, it's not a focal point and nothing fancy, just something extra on the outside and off to the edge. the blending and transition is great and the way you moved from planet to neb is awesome. also, this is one ocassion where that flare actually does the picture justice. it works well and fits in with the rest of the piece, even though it's realistically not supposed to be that close to the planet due to all the physics involved. i like the way you toned it down and how it's very large yet it's not a main focal point.

on to the asteroids, i wont talk about them artistically because i've already commented on them in your earlier pieces and the only difference i see is the color. i will however talk about the composition. the sheer amount of rocks that you have added is amazing, and the differences between each of them, not only in size but in shape is awesome. i love the angle you used as well, making the larger asteroid in the foreground, the idea to position it this way was a great idea. last thing is i also love the colors, great choices.

i had a great time viewing this piece and it blew me away when i first saw it, solely for that planet. it's an immense improvement from your last few, and they were great! awesome job here, i have little complaints.

Awesome job. The textures are amazing. So is the nebula. However I can see a small line just above the planet where color changes instantly. You should fix that. Overall, great picture.

Wow, this is amazing. How you can create things like this I will never know. I really liek the look of the doomed planet and the really bright light in the background is a nice effect. The asteroid up close is really good as well, the texture, colour etc And the small rocks falling off. Excellent =D:bounce:=D
